My “Cue Tips” at PoolDawg.com

I know. I know. I have a lot of writing ahead of me in 2010 and I’m looking forward to every minute of it! Aside from my new Pro Vision column on AZBilliards.com, I started another new monthly writing adventure for PoolDawg.com called “Samm Diep’s Cue Tips.”

Unlike my other instructional billiard columns, these will be more casual beginner ‘how to’ articles on chalking technique, picking the right pool cue, how to shape your tip, that sort of thing. It’s nothing like I’ve done before and to a more specific audience so I’m really looking forward to it! The first article is called, “Chalk It Up, The Proper Way.”

These articles will be featured alongside the lovely Liz Ford and her column, Dawg Training. She’s a VERY clever writer. I love her style! I think you’ll enjoy her first article on Etiquette.

PoolDawg’s announcement:

I know that the popular new year’s resolutions are to get in shape, lose weight and stop smoking, but we’re going to take it to a different place this year (not that there’s anything wrong with getting in shape, losing wait and kicking the habit).  2010 is going to be about becoming a better pool player.  Of course we offer tons of books, videos and training tools but sometimes it helps to get an expert’s point of view.  With that in mind, we’ve enlisted the help of not one, but two experts: WPBA touring pro Liz Ford and pool player/instructor/writer/entrepreneur Samm Diep.

Residing in the pool hotspot of New York City, Liz Ford is one of the true up and coming stars of the the WPBA.  In 2009, Liz finished the season ranked #27.  In addition to playing on the tour, Liz also competes in 40-50 local, regional and international tournaments annually including representing the United States in the 9 Ball World Championships this year in China.  Liz brings her unique sense of humor to such topics as pool etiquette, practicing, drills and tournament play.  She’s also been featured on The Discovery Channel’s “Time Warp” show.

Hailing from PoolDawg’s own hometown of Denver, Samm Diep is one of the most recognizable faces in the industry.  Her articles have been featured in pretty much every major billiards publication and her “What’s In The Case” videos are among YouTube’s most viewed billiards videos.  She’s been one of PoolDawg’s strongest and most loyal supporters over the years and even comes in on holidays to help us out and talk to customers.
