Ahhh… The DCC… How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…
- Watching live world-class pool by some of the greatest players on the planet
- Hanging out with all these players
- Seeing old pool friends and meeting new ones
- Covering the entire event for AZBilliards
- And this year, working with ACCU-STATS!!!
Derby this year means a lot to me because I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to see my brain child to fruition. The live tournament coverage I’m providing this year with AZBilliards, together with Accu-stats could not be possible without support from the Horseshoe Southern Indiana and CSIPool.
Unlike my previous video coverage experience, working with Accu-stats means that I can grab the actual footage from the matches to incorporate with my nightly newscasts.
Here is Day 2′s Daily Buzz:
The first couple days were a little shaky, but we’ve ironed out some kinks (and nerves). Honestly, I felt pretty outta stroke when I got here. It’s been since Vegas in May when I last covered an event (or spoke on camera).
Quotes of the Day:
“Young lady, you do send the most polite text messages I’ve ever seen,” Enzo, the shuttle driver (to me).
“May I take a photo of your nuts?”
What? I wanted a photo of Joe”s lead-filled gambling nuts. (see photos) If you’re interested, you can contact him:

Who knew???
Aside from the 1.25 mile stroll from my hotel room to the tournament room, I love that this place has:
* a pretty sweet fitness center (as hotel fitness centers go)
* comfy beds and down-ish pillows
* excellent shower water pressure
* giant ledge in the shower for all my girlie shower stuff
* super speedy elevators
* and, the friendliest staff, everyone is so nice!
More to come!

Samm! You just keep getting better and better.
Wish I were there…
Hey Samm! The tournament looks amazing…I’m so jealous! Hope to see you soon! (I may need an intervention due to my excessive use of exclamation points….)
Still looking for the picture of
my pool ball green sweatshirt.
