Tampa – Day 2

“Horseshoes and Hand Grenades”

I just wanted to throw up a quick post this morning. We’re packing up and checking out of our beachside inn to move over the to tournament sponsored hotel. Yesterday was an amazing day of horseshoes, relaxation, pool & dinner with some new friends, and a couple hours of good practice.

Since most of the day yesterday was non-pool related, you’ll have to reference the other blog later for more on that stuff. I did hit the gym in the morning pre-breakfast & beach.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh....

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.... It felt like a Fast Mikie Day...

As it turns out, horseshoes are much tougher than they look. Mike did manage to get a “ringer” though.

We were honored to be welcomed to John Biddle’s beautiful home and poolroom.

Mike and I checked out the original Strokers last night for a nice practice. I just hope to play well this weekend, believe in myself, trust my decisions, and enjoy my time at the table. Players’ meeting at 1 and draw to follow. I will post the online brackets here later.

Thanks to everyone for all your support and positive words & thoughts!

  1. Ok, so you had my hopes up with the “hand grenade” comment. I think everyone would agree horse shoes would be MUCH more interesting if they exploded. Just my 2 cents. Good luck this afternoon!!! We’re pulling for you!

  2. You’re such a cutie!
On vacation, hangin’ with the BF, soakin’ up some rays, and you still have time to slip a gratuitous FastMikie into your blog!

Hugs, good rolls, and straight shooting…

  3. Sam, it was a plaesure to host you and Mike Fieldhammer Thursday. You are every bit as nice and bubbly as you come across on your blog and in the video interviews. Mike was great too, of course, I just didn’t have much of an idea what his personality was until I met him.

I saw you win your first two matches on Friday. You played strongly the first match and won easily, and though you got off to a rough start in the second and were down 1-4, you showed great heart and came back to win 5-4. Keep it up and you’ll win the whole thing!
