When I was learning this game, I didn’t have any choice…

EVERYBODY is younger than I am!

It’s much more important to me to have someone intelligent who can vocalize everything necessary, which can be difficult in pool.

It can be hard to explain what’s going on in a good stroke, for instance. I know, because my dad can’t really tell me, lol.

Anyway, I’d be wary of taking coaching from a 15 year old, but not from a 22 year old, no matter what my age was.

i would say it would be better if some is older than you they can give instruction in my opinion size does matters if your big small or tall no matter who you are you might just take it from the pros or video that would help

  4. I try to gauge the experience of the teacher by how they express their knowledge. I also pay attention to their concern for helping. I have listened to younger players (skill level 9 in APA) and questioned advice from some older players (skill 5 in APA).

i think how well the person plays and how well they can teach are bigger factors than age.

the instructor should be able to show you how to do something and be able to do it him/herself consistently. then they should have the ability to tell you the why.

  6. Experience is key! But so is compatibility. I’ve had advice from both younger and older and attitude makes a huge difference in how long I’m willing to pay attention ;)

being a younger player (21) who is good (vnea average has never dropped below 8 in A+) i try to help older people than me and most of the time they will literally tell me they dont want my help what could i know, some of the rest of the time they hear but dont listen and dont follow it or just ignore me, so its not the instructor that matters here, its the person who is being instructed, if they want to learn it wont matter how old, if they dont want to learn you cant tell them anything no matter how old
