First, I would proudly like to announce the creation of MinneapolisBilliardClub.com . . .
This place is like a peaceful little sanctuary, except on poker nights. If you’re lucky enough to live in the twin cities, check it out and check out the monthly poker nights. You don’t need to be a member to attend the poker nights. You can also pay-per-visit if you’re not a member, just like at the gym!
When I’m in MN, we’re usually either at Mike‘s house or at “the club” so I was happy to help throw this site together as per Mike’s request.
Next up is a new site called FindSnooker.com. If you were ever wondering where you could find a snooker table to play on, check out this site to find a listing of all the pool rooms across the country that have snooker tables. It lists the address, phone number, how many tables, and what size.

It looks like California currently houses most of them.

This site was created by Gary Bartos from the Boston area. “After a friend introduced me to snooker in the early 90′s I became serious about playing cue games,” said Bartos
FindSnooker.com was inspired by a post called “Closest snooker table to Boston?” on the AZBilliards Forum. “After a user named McChen and I had identified a few snooker tables in New England, McChen wrote that “we should post this list on a web site somewhere.” Two months of googling and several hundred phone calls later, that’s what I did,” said Bartos
If you’ll notice, the site is basic and there are currently no ads on the site which means that Gary put this entire thing together pro bono, on his own time with his own resources. I admire the passion and determination. Kudos to Gary!
To simplify site updates, Gary even wrote software to create all the web pages from the collected data so that in the future the same software could be used to maintain lists of snooker, carom, or pool tables for any country. WOW!
My immediate goal is to encourage people to play snooker. My dream is that the documented lack of a snooker table in Boston will inspire a local pool hall to buy one. A simple goal and a simple dream. ~ Gary Bartos
If you notice any corrections, please post them in the comments here and I will pass them along to Gary.

I saw the findsnooker.com site on AZB the other day, what a great idea. I really think they should look to develop the idea outside of the States, we don’t even have that kind of list in the UK!
Hopefully see an increase in snooker activities over in the USA because of it
Thanks, Pete! If someone at TheSnookerForum.com wants to work up a list for the UK, I’d be happy to provide some help.
“Hopefully see an increase in snooker activities over in the USA because of it”
Me, too. I know some folks from the UK and other parts of the world who come to the U.S. and are starving for a game of snooker.
And of course big thanks to Samm for posting the list!
