US Open Day 6 - 4 Players Left and Scotch at Q-Masters
There’s four players left in the main event.
Set to play tomorrow are:
Mika and Ronnie on the winners’ side
Johnny and Warren on the b-side
Contrary to Shane, my picks for the finals are probably Ronnie and Mika, unless Ronnie dogs his guts out again like he did against Rodney tonight. Ugh. Good news is that it’s much easier to take notes on one or two matches than 4-6 matches.
After the final 9 o’clock match tonight, we headed over to Q-Masters to hang out for a little while. Mark and I grabbed a table and when Vanessa got there she joined us. I started off playing horribly against Mark and all of a sudden, I got in stroke. It felt so great. The European gang of Raj, Marcus, and Darren come over and were hanging out with us. Then Dan Louie (one of my new favorite people) and my new friend Donny from Florida come over to hang out too. There was a huge group of us and I was surprisingly playing great. It was pretty amazing actually since I’ve hardly hit a ball in the last week.
Next thing I know, Marcus is setting up a scotch match for me and him against Charlie and Yu Ram. We were getting the wild 7 and 8 for an undisclosed amount of Marcus’s money. We ended up losing 9-6, but I continued playing well. I missed position twice but made some clutch shots. I had so much! It was really exciting to just be playing some pressure pool, especially with so many people watching.
Marcus actually missed a few shots, along with making some killer ones, and felt bad afterward but didn’t seem too bothered by the financial loss. It was all in good fun and I’m glad I could be a part of it. It was the first free night where I got done with work before 2a.m. and I’m happy with how I spent it.
Looking forward to my own bed and some dryer climate.
