(ever had to sit & wait 1.5 hours for a match and become cold in the process?) if i get a win, then i can have another shot of playing well (or just playing good) in the next match. but during practice i'd definitely prefer to play well, especially when i'm working on different shots or strokes. of course, if you practice really hard or just really gifted, you may not have to worry about playing well or poor because you will be consistent. :-P depends on what situation. in a tournament setting i’d definitely settle for play poorly and win, since a person’s level of play can swing dramatically between matches.
