My New Pool Shoes

Recently, my chiropractor suggested I consider some better pool playing shoes. Well, I hadn’t considered that my shoes could be contributing to my back and neck pain because my feet felt fine, but I looked into it.

So, I asked Santa (my mom) for a new pair of pool shoes. We went to Foot Solutions and I learned all about my feet and the affects of a good (and bad) pair of shoes. Wow! Who knew?!??

The very knowledgeable salesperson/pedorthist showed me a skeleton thing of my foot, examples of various shoes and insoles to help me choose the perfect pair for me. I learned that I wasn’t getting enough support from my current shoes and it was causing my back knee (of my pool stance) to turn in just slightly and hence the soreness I would feel following long practice sessions.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS7Final choice: The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7

(Offers the stability I need with plenty of cushioning. “A stability shoe geared to mild and moderate overpronators. The Diagonal Rollbar™ provides firm support at the arch, while the MoGo midsole offers soft yet resilient cushioning to keep you running in total comfort.”)

Birkenstock Insoles& Birkenstock Contoured Cork Insoles (High flanges and deep heel cups provide stability and support. For casual shoes or heels up to 2″.)

Mmmmmmm… I love ‘em!

Well, they’ve already paid for themselves after New Year’s Eve anyway. Incredibly, by the way, my knee felt great after the 10 hour tournament Monday night.

We leaving for Derby in the morning. I can’t wait!
