Project: New Shaft (Day 6)
6 days down and 15 more to go…. and a partridge in a… oh, wait!
Last night, I stopped by Shakes for about four hours of more stroke and aim work. I’m really beginning to feel a lot more comfortable with the shaft and don’t despise it nearly as much as I did in the beginning.
I ran into an old league friend that I hadn’t seen in about a year. She was there for APA league and I played a few games of 8 ball with her. I only missed a couple balls and only lost one game. I played tough and smart.
I’m feeling really confident with long “makers”. You know? Those long tester shots where you just need to make it. Well, I’ve been makin’ ‘em.
Mike showed me this 10 ball 1 pocket drill and I’ve been obsessed with it. I hated it at first because I’m not a one pocket player or anything remotely close to resembling a one pocket player but I was really having fun with it last night.
If I were more organized, I’d post a diagram of the exercise here, but maybe in the future.
Speaking of 10 balls - My coach Bob just informed me of a 10 Ball Tournament at Table Steaks South so I’ll be meeting him there tonight for that. Don’t know how well I’ll do, but I don’t really have any expectations (other than to enjoy myself, of course) but I will appreciate the pressure. Wish me ruck!
