Okay. Okay. So, you can find your tournament scores and updates online. I’m here to share my personal experience so far at the tournament.
It’s Day 5 and I’m having an AMAZING time! I’ve never seen anything quite like this tournament and I’m fortunate enough to be at the Inside Pool booth with the best seat in the house.
Some random smatterings so far…
- It’s only been the most incredible, high level of pool I’ve ever watched live in the most intense arena I’ve ever seen before. WOW!!!
- It’s tough not to notice the tournament room is FREEZING! I don’t know why Barry keeps it so cold in there. I wonder if you can see your breath in his house. Yikes!
- The InsidePool booth is RIGHT in the front and the only booth of all of them that allows us to watch matches while we’re in the booth. We’re so lucky!
- The sweating at this tournament is so different from what I’m used to. Most of the spectators here are participants or true appreciators and players. Unlike at the BCA 9 Ball Event in Vegas where the crowd cheers for a connect-the-dots four ball stopshot out or a 9 ball break, the audience appears to be, in general, made up of a much higher caliber of players. These players appreciate the subtleties of the delicate finesse shots or the four rail position shots for shape. It’s quite a unique experience like none I’ve ever seen.
- I got to watch Mike play Charlie Williams on the TV table. He lost 11-9 but it easily could’ve gone either way. He played great and it was a very exciting match! That was SOOO EXCITING!!! I’m so proud of him. He never once lost his composure and really did a great job of keeping his head down (one of his biggest weaknesses).
- Barry likes to bring his doggy, Buddy around with him. I don’t know…
- We’re staying at the Red Roof Inn which has turned out to be much nicer than originally expected. We have a small fridge and microwave in our room.
- And lastly, but most excitingly for me… Mike and I are filming a series of 2-3 minute instructional segments called Inside Pool Xtreme Instruction.
There’s so much more I want to share, but these early mornings and late nights don’t allow for much personal blogging time. I’ll be back soon. Don’t forget to check out the Xtreme Instructions!
