Okay. After over a month of The Tip Jar being out of commission, I finally bit the bullet and rebuilt the entire thing from scratch. I believe most of the content was salvaged but, unfortunately, many of the posts and comments were lost.
I was attempting to load a plugin and put the code in the wrong place. I, somehow, brilliantly managed to corrupt the index file and lost much of the content. Oops! What I was able to salvage was from cached images but the back end data was simply gone.
After hours and hours on the phone with Yahoo!‘s technical [un]support (who was unable to assist me with my WordPress blog even though they were the ones hosting it) and another few days of posting to the WordPress forum (and discovering that I’m not the only one that had troubles with a Yahoo! hosted WordPress blog) and another few hours with technical friends and their valiant efforts to recover my missing data……….
I finally sucked it up and decided it was time for a change anyway!
So here we are! Tell your friends. The New & Improved (hopefully) Tip Jar now resides at PoolTipJar.com.
